| Storm Finishes 2008 Strong... Gets 3rd in North Aurora  The Algonquin Storm 11u team finished the 2008 season in style by competing well in the North Aurora "Summer Sizzler" tournament and taking the third place hardware. Pool play included a 9-9 draw in a classic ballgame against the eventual champions, the Elk Grove Travelers. Pool play excellence earned the Storm a #2 seed in the playoffs and a bye to the semi-final. The Storm Takes Third in St. Charles Tourney The Algonquin Storm 11u placed in another tournament for 2009. This time the setting was St. Charles, IL. Pool play featured a shutout of the Wasco Warriors (who went on to be a finalist), and a key semi final victory over the hot Hamilton Southeastern, IN Cats. The Storm had a very big game in the battle for third place against Batavia. |
Storm Brings Home 1st Place in Vernon Hills  The 11u Storm traveled to Vernon Hills over the April 26 weekend to play in the 4th Annual Cougar Kickoff 11u tournament. The team went 3-0 in pool play beating teams from Arlington Hts., Aurora and Lk. Zurich. That record advanced them directly to the final where they met the Richmond Rockets--also 3-0. With sound pitching, great hitting and all-around team efforts, the Storm won the championship game 10-0.  |
