Storm News

Congratulations to the 2009 12U Algonquin Storm
on a very successful season.

This year we competed against not only some of the top travel teams
in the Chicago-land area,
but also against some of the top travel teams in the country.
Our success in Omaha proved that
we have developed a program and a team that can
compete & win against some of the best teams across the United States.

Highlights of the 2009 season:

  • Overall win percentage of .740
  • Took 3rd Place at the Omaha Slumpbuster Tournament
  • Champions at 'The Beast' Memorial Day Tournament
  • Won the Eastern Division Title in the MSBL with a record of 17 - 5
  • Took 2nd Place in the MSBL Tournament competing against 39 of the most skilled teams in the mid-suburban area
  • Took 3rd Place in the 'End of Summer Showdown' Tournament

We proudly recognize the contributions of
Chris Addante
(2005 Illinois High School "Coach of the Year"),
our Director of Coaching and Player Development,
for helping to take our players and team to an elite level of competition!

About Us

The Algonquin Storm is Algonquin's Premier 13 year old and under travel baseball team.  We are an affiliate of the Algonquin Area Youth Organization (AAYO) and play our league games in the highly competitive Mid-Suburban Baseball League (MSBL).
Our team plays between 45 and 55 games during April-July.  We also participate in additional tournaments which are local and out-of-town.

Our philosophy is to help players improve, to grow as a team unit, and to have fun while playing high-quality, competitive baseball.  All players will be treated with respect and encouragement on and off the field.  Our goals for our players also go beyond the game of baseball.  We are about playing the game the right way and doing the right things both on and off the field.  We hope to develop not only excellent ball players who will continue playing the game into high school and beyond but also quality young men who will make a difference in their community.

Come back and visit us regularly.
The schedules, events and pictures will be updated frequently.

A BIG THANK YOU goes to
Tyler Ladendorf
of the Oakland A's organization
for joining us at practice last fall!
